This is top-notch task design in action, again, from Bruce Gray. I love the way that attention is taken away from the lines, to focus on the enclosed area work. This is much more than routine practice of plotting lines, although it serves that procedural skill – it gives pupils opportunities to be creative and apply their thinking. The further into the task we go, the more interesting it becomes.
