Grid Multiplication and Division (Algebra)

This task starts with a recap of grid multiplication before some practice on grid layout for division. These are all simple cases and there are no curve balls. This task is just a starting point to allow pupils to develop more confidence.

I don’t do synthetic division as it’s not a forward facing method. The grid works at Advanced Higher for long division proper. We all too often do synthetic division when it isn’t required at Higher Maths. Synthetic division doesn’t make the easy questions easier – but it does make the hard questions harder!
