This task is designed to be used before the formal teaching of quadratic inequalities. It is meant to help pupils interpret inequalities which describe a region above or below the axis, and then express intervals of regions which are above or below the axes.

I couldn’t figure out how to draw the diagrams I wanted for second part of the task using software, so what appears are some rather dodgy hand-drawn diagrams!
